Reno, Nevada – An obituary in which a Nevada woman’s adult children alleged she had been abusive toward them growing up has gone viral. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), the children of wrote in the obituary of their estranged mother, “Everyone she met, adult or child was tortured by her cruelty and exposure to violence, criminal activity, vulgarity, and hatred of the gentle or kind human spirit.”
Johnson-Reddick died last month at the age of 79 at a Reno nursing home. According to one of her children, a son Patrick Reddick, 58, whom she had been estranged from for over 30 years, six of her eight children had been admitted to an orphanage in the 1960s after suffering severe abuse at the hands of their mother.
The obituary begins by stating, “On behalf of her children who she abrasively exposed to her evil and violent life, we celebrate her passing from this earth and hope she lives in the after-life reliving each gesture of violence, cruelty and shame that she delivered on her children.”
It is further quoted as stating, “Our greatest wish now is to stimulate a national movement that mandates a purposeful and dedicated war against child abuse in the United States of America.”
