Aberdeen, Washington – The childhood home of late Nirvana frontman, Kurt Cobain, is being placed up for sale. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), Cobain’s mother, Wendy O’Connor, is putting the home and other items on the market this week.

The 1.5 story bungalow is reportedly being listed for $500,000, but was last assessed at under $67,000. It is located two hours away from Seattle.

Cobain’s sister, Kim Cobain, is quoted by the AP as stating of the family’s decision to sell the 1923 structure, “We’ve decided to sell the home to create a legacy for Kurt, and yes, there are some mixed feelings since we have all loved the home and it carries so many great memories… But our family has moved on from Washington, and (we) feel it’s time to let go of the home.”

Kurt Cobain lived in the home with his family from ages 2 to 9 and again in his later teen years.

Cobain committed suicide at the age of 27 in 1994.
