Pennsylvania – An expectant Pennsylvania mother has filed charges against a man who rubbed her belly. As reported by Yahoo! Shine, 30-year-old Michelle Troutman filed harassment charges against her neighbor 57-year-old Richard J. Beishline, after he visited her and touched her stomach after giving her a hug. Troutman reportedly pushed him away during the incident prompting him to quickly leave.

Pennsylvania-based attorney Phil DiLucente, who has no involvement in the case, is quoted in the report as stating of the difficulty involved in a plaintiff winning this type of case, “Pennsylvania law defines harassment as engaging in conduct that harasses, annoys, or alarms a person…That’s always been the law, whether someone is pregnant or not, but this is the first time to my knowledge it’s been used in such a way.

DiLucente further notes that Troutman would need to prove a “course of conduct” in order to win. Regardless DiLuente states, “…this case will make a dent in people’s awareness of a woman’s personal boundaries.”
