U.S. – A price war is anticipated for the upcoming major post Thanksgiving shopping day among big name retailers. As reported by Yahoo! News, Walmart and other electronic retailers are expected to engage in a Black Friday pricing battle for market share amid the launch of several highly anticipated devices such as the PlayStation 4.
Walmart’s head of general merchandise Steve Bratspies is quoted in the report as stating of the importance of the holiday shopping season for retailers, “You have to win in electronics” and that offering great deals on electronics to consumers “can get them to fill up their shopping carts with other items.”
Electronic device sales are expected to increase this year for the first time in three, as indicated by NPD Group research. Retailers like Target and Walmart are expected to offer price-matching deals.
