London – A man embroiled in a long bitter divorce battle with his former wife of 17 years has been ordered by the High Court in London to pay her half of his estimated $65 million worth after he claimed to be “penniless.” As reported by Reuters, judge Philip Moor ruled in the headline making case on Friday that Scot Young, 51, was worth 40 million ($65 million) pounds even though his true financial position was difficult to determine due to the extent of the lies told by Young.

His ex-wife Michelle Young claims he is worth far more and expressed disappointment in the judge’s ruling stating to reporters outside of the court, “I stand by what I said. He’s worth billions.”

Scot Young previously served six months in jail after failing to disclose information about his assets.

Moor is quoted by Reuters as writing in his ruling, “This case has been quite extraordinary even by the standards of the most bitter of matrimonial breakdowns.”
