Oakland, CA – A football fan was praised by police after breaking the fall of a woman who jumped from a deck within the home stadium of the Oakland Raiders. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), the woman, whose identity was not disclosed, sustained critical injuries in the 45 feet fall, following her jump from the third-level deck.
The good Samaritan was purportedly seriously injured by breaking her fall, but police say he is expected to survive. He is stated to have seen the woman prior to her jump and yelled to her “don’t do it.”
Alameda County Sheriff’s Sgt. J.D. Nelson is quoted by the AP as stating of the man, whose name was not released, “He saved her life quite honestly, at his own expense… This guy 100 percent saved her life. She’d be dead now.”
