Missouri personal injury lawyers alert- A building collapse at Kenny’s Tile injured workers.
Kansas City, Mo—A portion of Kenny’s Tile building collapsed and injured three workers. The building collapsed on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 around 10:00 a.m., at the 100,000 square-foot facility at 3303 Main Street in Grandview, as reported by The Kansas City Star.
According to police officials, the main floor fell onto workers and equipment located in the basement of the facility. The collapse dispersed thick dust and debris into the air. It is currently unknown what prompted the building collapse. Rescue crews pulled three workers from the building, and everyone, including rescue crews were ordered to evacuate the structure. Fire officials feared the building could collapse again. Firefighters and a structural engineer re-entered the building again about an hour and half later to assess the buildings stability and safety to continue searching for victims. Even though all the workers were accounted for, costumers inside the building could have been trapped. A search dog was dispatched to the scene to aid in the search. The three injured workers were transported by area emergency medical services (EMS) crews to a local hospital for treatment. The condition of the three workers is currently unknown. It is also unknown if any other people were found trapped in the collapse building. Police officials are reportedly investigating the building collapse.
