Police motorcyclist suffered fatal injuries after crash and died at Good Samaritan Hospital.
Baltimore, MD (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) — A Baltimore policeman’s injuries proved fatal Sunday, October 25, 2009, after the motorcyclist had attempted to avoid a collision close to Park Precinct station on Old Harford Road, announced the Baltimore Sun.
County officials reported that the officer had been traveling to work around 1 p.m on his 2009 Harley Davidson, when a 2002 Ford Focus pulled out of a Loch Raven’s Presbyterian Church parking lot, and almost collided with the police motorcyclist. The officer landed the motorcycle on its side to avoid the crash, but was then launched into the driver’s side of the car.
Police reported to the scene of the accident on the 9300 block of Old Harford Road, where the injured officer laid in the road in front of the car. 42-year-old officer, Jeffrey Neral, was transported by the County Fire Department emergency services to Good Samaritan Hospital to be treated for his life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the Ford was identified as 26-year-old Pei Kao, who remained uninjured in the fatal accident. Officer Neral, a 17-year member of the Baltimore police department, passed away on Sunday, October 25, 2009 when his injuries proved fatal.
Officials reported that this accident was the second in less than two months to have involved a Baltimore police officer. On September 24, 2009, 32-year-old Investigator Jason Simons, was fatally injured after a crash on Route 88.
