Occupational Health and Safety Admin. alerts Texas construction accident lawyer- A construction worker fatally fell at a First Baptist Church construction site.
Tyler, TX—An East Texas construction worker fell to his death while working on a construction project at a church. The fatal construction accident happened while the worker was hanging sheet rock at the First Baptist Church on Farm-to-Market Road 2493 around 7:45 a.m., Friday morning, as reported by KLTV.
Hermilo Pimentel, 41, was reportedly hanging sheet rock in the soon-to-be family life center at the First Baptist Church, when he apparently took a step backwards into a 3-foot-by-6-foot construction hole located on the second floor. Pimentel plummeted from the second floor of the church building to the ground below. Pimentel sustained severe head trauma from the fall. It is unknown how far Pimentel fell. Justice of the Peace James Morris pronounced Pimentel dead at the scene of the accident. They believed he died instantly due to the severity of his potential traumatic brain injury (TBI).
Pimentel is undergoing an autopsy by the Southeast Texas Forensic Center in Tyler. Officials with the federal Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) http://www.osha.gov/, along with the officials from Cooper Plastering Inc., which was the construction company he was employed by, are reportedly conducting a full investigation into the fatal construction accident. Pimentel left behind a loving wife of 13 years, and two beautiful young daughters.
