Legal news for Kentucky train accident attorneys. A man was killed after he was hit by an Amtrak train.
Train Accident lawyers alert- A Kentucky man is dead after a Amtrak train crashed into his Ford F-150 truck.
Maysville, KY—A Firebrick man was killed after he was involved in a collision with a train on Monday, January 18, 2010. An Amtrak train slammed into a Ford F-150 around 12:07 a.m., on Shawnee Lane in Firebrick, which is located in eastern Lewis County, as reported by The Maysville.
The Lewis County Sheriff’s Office allegedly reported that a 2004 Ford F-150 pickup truck, driven by William J. McCray, 31, was hit on the driver’s side by a westbound Amtrak train. The impact of the violent collision ejected McCray from his vehicle and onto the road. The Lewis County Coroner arrived at the scene and pronounced the motorist dead at the scene of the crash. Police officials reported it appears that McCray parked his vehicle on the railroad tracks, because the truck was engaged in the park position and the headlights were on. McCray was also familiar with the crossing and lived in the area, according to police officers. It is unknown why the truck was on the tracks. The crash is currently under investigation, and an autopsy is planned.
The Firebrick Volunteer Fire Department, Garrison Fire Department, MedCorp Ambulance Service, CSX and Amtrak Police also responded to scene.
