CPSC alerts- Blip Toys recall pinto horse figures.
Minneapolis, MN—The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) http://www.cpsc.gov/ and Blip Toys have voluntarily recalled Nature Wonders HD pinto horse toy figures, after it was revealed that the toys violate the federal lead paint standard. The recall was announced by the CPSC on Tuesday, January 26, 2010.
About 15,000 horse figures were recalled after discovering the surface paint coating on the toys had excessive levels of lead, which violates the federal lead paint standard. At this time, no injuries or incidents have been reported. The model number on the toy figurines is 92093, and “Nature Wonders HD” is imprinted on the retail tag fastened around the horse’s leg. The plastic horse is white with brown spots, and is about 4 inches tall. The toy was sold nationwide at Walmart stores from January 2009 through July 2009 for about $4. Consumers are advised to remove the toy from their child possession, and to contact Blip Toys to receive a free replacement toy. For additional information, concerned consumers can contact Blip Toys toll-free at (888) 405-7696 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. CT Monday through Friday, or visit their Web site at www.bliptoys.com/recall.
