Florida personal injury attorney alerts- FHP investigate separate traffic accidents involving SUV’s and pedestrians.
Pasco County, FL—Two pedestrians became involved in separate traffic accidents within hours of each other, killing one and severely injuring the other. The violent pedestrian-involved crashes both occurred on U.S. Route 19 Saturday night, January 30, 2010, according to information provided by Tampa Bay Online.
Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) reported a 2008 Dodge Nitro SUV, driven by 46-year-old Denise Donati, traveling southbound near Mile Stretch Road at approximately 9:30 p.m. A St. Petersburg man, identified as 27-year-old Brandon Hensley, was reportedly heading walking across U.S. 19, heading west, at the same time and was subsequently struck by the SUV. Emergency medical services (EMS) crews seemingly transported the man to Helen Ellis Hospital where his injuries unfortunately proved fatal at approximately 10 p.m.
In another incident, 44-year-old Tammy Nunn was reported crossing the southbound lanes of U.S. 19 at Westwood Drive, when she was struck by an oncoming compact SUV in the center lane. The SUV allegedly fled the scene after hitting the pedestrian. Nunn reportedly sustained serious injuries in the 11:15 p.m. traffic accident and had to be airlifted to Tampa General Hospital via medical helicopter. FHP officials are reportedly searching for the hit-and-run driver. No charges have been filed with either incident as of yet.
