Harford County, MD (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) – A tractor-trailer tragically struck a husband and a wife standing outside of their vehicles on I-95 around 11:20 p.m. Wednesday night, February 24, 2010 according to The Baltimore Sun. The husband and the wife had been reportedly traveling in separate vehicles when they both suddenly pulled over on the side of the interstate in Harford County.
The husband, identified as 38-year-old Leonard Clark, the driver of the Dodge Charger, had exited his vehicle to meet his wife, identified as 39-year-old Kimberly Clark, who was standing outside her Dodge Durango aside the northbound lanes of I-95.
Maryland State Police reported that a tractor-trailer came driving by and tragically struck the couple after a collision with a vehicle around 11:20 p.m. The truck driver remained unidentified in the crash. Emergency medical services (EMS) rushed to the scene to transport the severely injured couple to Maryland Shock Trauma Center, however, Leonard’s injuries proved fatal at the scene, and he was pronounced dead.
Kimberly was in life threatening condition and was taken to the hospital to be treated by doctors and nurses. Medical officials reported that she was listed in critical condition. Police shut down the northbound lanes until Thursday morning to perform an investigation. It was not known why the couple had gotten out of their vehicles on the highway. The investigation continues.
