Erie County, OH—A motor vehicle collision (MVC), involving two cars and a sport utility vehicle, left seven people injured Sunday, March 21, 2010. The three-vehicle wreck occurred in Margaretta Township, Ohio on U.S. Route 6 at State Road 269, according to information provided by TheNews-Messenger.com.
A 16-year-old motorist, identified as Jennifer Clabaugh, was reportedly traveling westbound on U.S. 6 in a Dodge Intrepid when she attempted to make a left turn as an eastbound SUV was traveling on the roadway as well. Upon doing so, she struck the Chevrolet K1500 Suburban, driven by 39-year-old Mary Ann Smith, causing it to careen around and become involved in another collision with a Chevrolet Malibu, being driven by 54-year-old Tina Kubitz, according to Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) troopers.
Emergency medical services (EMS) crews seemingly responded to the scene of the multi-vehicle accident to transport those injured to area hospitals for treatment. Clabaugh had three passengers occupying her vehicle at the time, all of whom sustained non-life threatening injuries. The passengers were identified as 14-year-old Michael Clabaugh, 15-year-old Madeline Ewing, and 17-year-old Jakeb Aldrich. Smith and a child in her vehicle, 11-year-old Kristen Smith, as well as Kubitz, also suffered injuries in the motor vehicle accident. All of the injured crash victims were transported to Firelands Medical Center to be treated by doctors and nurses.
OSHP authorities cited Clabaugh for her failure to yield the right of way to the eastbound vehicles.
