California automobile accident attorneys alert- The California Highway Patrol is investigating a crash involving a Acura Integra on Interstate 80.
San Francisco Bay, CA—The California Highway Patrol (CHP) is currently investigating a single-vehicle non-contact hit and run crash along Interstate 80. The wreck fatally injured one man and seriously injured a passenger during the Wednesday afternoon, March 24, 2010 crash, as reported by the San Jose Mercury News.
CHP troopers rushed to the scene of the 3:50 p.m. crash, on eastbound I-80 just east of Carlson Boulevard. A black Acura Integra reportedly slid several hundred yards into a pole that was on the right shoulder of the highway. According to witnesses, the car apparently lost control after the driver swerved to avoid another recklessly driven vehicle. The other vehicle was reportedly speeding and weaving in and out of traffic. The driver of the Acura, a 21-year-old El Sobrante man, was pronounced dead at the scene by medical rescue teams after sustaining fatal injuries. A passenger in the car, a 20-year-old male, sustained serious injuries and was flown to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek for treatment.
Troopers are investigating the fatal accident as a non-contact hit and run. The description of the speeding vehicle is currently being withheld. Anyone with information about the wreck is asked to contact the CHP at 510-262-2728.
