Nineteen year-old Jose Cruz-Ramirez, of Blountstown, was a passenger in Espinoza’s SUV. Cruz-Ramirez was transported by a Calhoun County emergency medical services (EMS) crew to Calhoun-Liberty Hospital for treatment of his critical injuries. However, doctors and nurses at the local hospital pronounced him dead. The driver of the SUV, Espinoza, was also critically injured. Espinoza’s SUV had three other occupants. 53 year-old Carlos Garcia-Gabriel, 26 year-old Toribio Sascala, and 32 year-old Luis Sascala were all Blountstown residents and suffered critical injuries during the SUV crash.
