Miami, FL– A fatal two-vehicle collision on northbound Interstate 95, killed a child and injured four others near Northwest 119th Street. The deadly automobile accident occurred around 9 p.m., Monday, January 31, 2011, near Northwest 135th Street, as reported by the Miami Herald.
Witnesses told the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) that a Camaro was traveling at a “high rate of speed,” when it slammed into the rear-end of a Toyota. The Toyota caught fire after impact.
Three people inside of the Toyota, a woman and two young children, were rushed to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center by responding emergency crews. A 4-year-old child died at the hospital.
Emergency crews also rushed a male and a female from the Camaro to Jackson Memorial for treatment of injuries.
The identities of the victims have not been released.
A full investigation is underway. It is unknown what caused the Camaro to hit the back of the Toyota.
