Maryland truck accident lawyers report how a local doctor suffered fatal injuries after his vehicle smashed into a tractor-trailer driving east on Route 50 in Maryland Wednesday afternoon.
Salisbury, MD (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) – A well-known pediatrician was traveling on Route 50 near Pittsville when he hit a broken down tractor-trailer from behind, announced Ocean City Today.
The accident occurred Wednesday afternoon when the Doctor, driving eastbound, in his 2009 Mercedes SL350 crashed into the broken down tractor-trailer. The tractor-trailer then spun out and came to a halt on the east bound shoulder.
The Doctor, identified as Chief of Pediatrics at Peninsula Regional Medical Center’s (PRMC) Dr. Jose F. Alvarado, was seriously injured by the crash. When Emergency Medical Services showed up on the scene, Alvarado was transported via trauma helicopter to University of Maryland Medical Center and treated in the Shock Trauma Center. Paramedics described Alvarado’s wounds as critical and later proved fatal.
Pediatric Doctor Jose F. Alvarado had been the Chief of the Pediatric department for 3 years at PRMC. The president spoke about the tragic accident stating that staff has expressed their concerns about his condition and gratitude for his service and dedication to them and to the hospital. Officials reported that Route 50 was closed off for hours after the accident.
