New Jersey – A New Jersey man was rescued by co-workers after falling through a roof and into an acid tank at his place of employment. As reported by NorthJersey.com, Martin Davis, fell while working on the building roof of metal tube manufacturer Swepco Tube LLC, and ended up in a tank containing nitric acid Monday morning. One co-worker, Rob Nuckols, jumped into the vat to save him with the assistance of three others; Rob Fulton, Joe Dabkowski, and William Walker, who helped pull Davis out.
John Davis, the accident victim’s brother, is quoted in the report as stating of his brother’s co-workers actions, “In our trade we stick together. It’s a serious business. You’ll die out there. You’ve got your family to feed and you have got to protect each other.”
Davis was reportedly listed in critical condition after sustaining serious burns, a broken rib, and a punctured lung in the incident.
