Goliad, TX – A pickup truck crash in Texas has resulted in the deaths of 14 people. As reported by The Lookout, 23 passengers were in the Ford F-250 Super Duty pickup when it collided into two trees as it was traveling on U.S. Highway 59.
In addition to the 14 deaths, nine people were injured, with some of them being taken to San Antonio and Corpus Christi area hospitals.
Texas Highway Patrol trooper Gerald Bryant is quoted in the report as stating to KTRK-TV, “In my 38 years as an officer, this is one of the worst fatalities I have been to… I have never seen where we had that many in a vehicle.”
The victims were reportedly crammed into different parts of the vehicle at the time of the crash. Authorities were still investigating the circumstances of what may have caused the accident at the time of the report.
