Police report that a motorcyclist was hit and injured when minivan crashed into him in East Bridgewater MA neighborhood.
East Bridgewater, MA (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) – A motorcyclist was fatally injured when he was struck by his neighbors vehicle Thursday evening, announced Enterprise News.
The accident took place on Pond Street where a medical rescue helicopter landed on a nearby baseball field as close to the accident as possible to transport the seriously injured motorcyclist to a Boston hospital to be treated by doctors and nurses.
Massachusetts fire rescue and police officials reported that the neighbor, identified as 51-year-old Shelia Woolf claimed that she was pulling out of her driveway in her 1995 Toyota Thursday evening when she struck the 1985 Harley Davidson motorcycle. The motorcyclist was identified as 48-year-old James Hanlon.
Medical officials reported Hanlon to be in life-threatening condition after the 7:30 p.m. crash. The impact of the crash ejected Hanlon off his motorcycle where he flew across the road into another neighbor’s driveway. Detectives noted that the bike left a 50 foot trail of skid marks beginning in Woolf’s driveway.
Police are investigating the accident. Police will not press charges until a thorough investigation is conducted. It was not specified as to what Boston hospital Hanlon was taken to for treatment.
