Georgia – A settlement has been reached in the discrimination lawsuit against celebrity chef Paula Deen. As reported by ET Online, the terms of the settlement, which related to the sexual harassment claims made by Lisa Jackson, who worked as a restaurant manger at a restaurant co-owned by Deen, were not yet disclosed as of Friday.
Jackson alleged that she has been subjected to sexual harassment and witnessed racism against black employees while employed at Uncle Bubba’s Oyster House in Savannah, GA for five years. Her racial discrimination claims were previously thrown out by a federal judge.
Jackson is quoted by ET as saying in statement released after the settlement, “I now know that the workplace environment issues that I raised are being reviewed and will in the future no longer be at issue. I wish Ms. Deen and her family all the best in all of their future endeavors and I am very pleased that this matter has been now been resolved and can now be put behind us.”
